Hello! My name is Gloria Camacho and I am the Public Health Coordinator for Flying Sams this year! I’ve been a part of this wonderful organization for almost 3 years now and I am excited to be able to represent an organization that holds such a special and meaningful place in my heart. My passion for international public health outreach started in 2014 when I took my first medical trip to India where I was given the role as Community Education Leader. Since then my life has been changed forever. My job was to educate families on the importance of body hygiene and self-care. This event in particular solidified my decision to become a physician who can hopefully one day practice international medicine through Doctors Without Borders. I also am a proud volunteer at CHOC Childrens where I have dedicated almost 5 years of my life and is a place I can happily call my second home. As Public Health Coordinator my goal is to make an impact on the community of El Hongo, by brining awareness of a healthy lifestyle, both mentally and physically. Currently, I am in the process of applying to medical school and publishing a mandala/henna inspired coloring book.
